Will what I talk about be confidential in therapy?
Confidentiality is of utmost importance between a client and therapist. Trust is vital. A high level of trust, especially with highly sensitive matters, is one of the main contributors to successful therapy.
Before we begin our sessions, you will be sent a form called “Informed Consent”. The informed consent form will advice you of my policies, state and federal laws, and your rights.
Important to note: State law and professional ethics require therapists to maintain confidentiality except for the following situations:
* Suspected past or present abuse or neglect of children, adults, and elders to the authorities, including Child Protection and law enforcement, based on information provided by the client or collateral sources.
- If the therapist has reason to suspect the client is seriously in danger of harming him/herself or has threatened to harm another person.
- Do you have any discounted fees available?
In a few limited cases, I offer a discounted “sliding scale” rate for those who cannot afford the full cost of the session. Please reach out to inquire about the sliding scale rate, if needed.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Since all sessions will be conducted via video conferencing, all major credit cards accepted for payment.
What is your Cancellation Policy?
If you do not “show up” for your scheduled therapy appointment, without at least a 24 hour advance notification, the full cost of the session will be charged.
Do you conduct face-to-face therapy sessions?
At this time, I only offer therapy sessions via video-conferencing means.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes, I offer a free phone or video conferencing consultation, where you can briefly explain why you’re seeking therapy, ask any questions you may have and decide if we are a good fit.
What are the fees for therapy session?
My therapy session are held for a duration of 50 minutes. The fees are $150 for individual clients, and $175 for couples and families. Included with this fee, are collateral short exchanges with other parties related to your case (if needed) and short (no more than 10-15 min) phone calls or text message exchanges with you, if urgently needed between sessions.
How often can I schedule therapy sessions?
Most commonly therapy sessions are weekly. Based on each case, issues being worked on and needs of each individual client, therapy sessions can also be twice a week, every other week, or once a month.
Do you take insurance?
Insurance: I am not in-network with insurance, however I can provide you with a superbill to provide them for reimbursement. Please contact your insurance company and inquire about your mental health coverage prior to scheduling.
